Sports 2000 Championships is an open cockpit 2 seater rear-engine sports racing car series, using either the standard Ford 2000cc 16 valve “Duratec” or the 2000cc single overhead camshaft 8 valve “Pinto” engine. First started in 1977, the Sports 2000 Championship was introduced to fill a void left by the failure of the RAC’s 2-litre Group 6 Championship, which was abandoned at the end of 1976 and the new cars, using many off-the-shelf parts as well as several components common to other Ford based formulae, proved relatively inexpensive both to produce and maintain.
Sports 2000 Championship wanted to increase its online presence across social media to engage with its stakeholders, including racers, sponsors and spectators.
With race events throughout the year, Sports 2000 Championships felt the need to develop their sponsorship appeal off-track as much as developments on the track.
Through regular posting across their social media platforms and strategic content planning, the Sports 2000 Championship digital growth is attracting and engaging with stakeholders more than ever before. This has resulted in more than 300,000 impressions of the Sports 2000 brand across their four social media platforms.
