Having been the bane of advertisers’ lives for a long time, the rule that penalised advertisers on Facebook who ran ads with more than 20% text has been phased out.

It’s been confirmed by Facebook themselves (who still maintain that images with less text perform better).

The grid tool has also gone.

You’ll no longer see warnings if you post an ad that contains a lot of text.

It is still recommended that you test your new text-heavy ads with image-heavy alternatives. No one likes something in their news feed that looks like an ad and it remains that the more content looks natural and relevant to the user the better.
