Twitter has revealed a new feature called ‘Super Follow’. This will allow users to earn money from their tweets and other content.
Similar to other creators monetisation platforms, OnlyFans and Patreon, Twitter creators will be able to provide access to subscriber-only content, deals and groups for a monthly fee starting at $4.99.
It may also compete with the newsletter platform Substack. Twitter having recently bought Revue, another newsletter company. Twitter said at launch that the company’s analysts say that this is a “very early exploration” of e-commerce on the website.

As some tech experts have already pointed out, the new feature could have a big impact on journalists if they are allowed to enable Super Follows by allowing them to capitalise on their individual followings.
